Dunn, Douglas Eaglesham
(1942- )
   Professor of English and director of the Scottish Studies Institute at St. Andrew's University, he was born in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. Educated at the Scottish School of Librarianship, he worked as a librarian in Scotland and Akron, Ohio, before reading English at Hull University. He holds honorary doctorates from the universities of Dundee (law) and Hull (literature), and has won several prestigious literary awards. He has edited various anthologies and critical works, written several television and radio plays, and published short stories. He became fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1981 and was appointed an officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2003. Some of his poetry publications: Terry Street, 1969.
